BITS-O-WISDOM: "Losing weight with EFT means never having to say, 'No, thanks, I'm on a diet.'" --One More Bite

May: Winter wanes, new life begins. Start a new life for yourself today. No need to wait for a Monday.

Spring Into It With One More Bite EFT Personal Retreat

The first retreat was a joy to experience. Everyone came away with a deeper understanding of themselves and a lot of "ah ha" moments. Change comes in many forms, and if you're willing to explore new directions, maybe this will be the right time for you to discard old habits and beliefs that keep you stuck in a body you don't love.

Mar 29-30, 2008 at Hidden Lake Retreat, Eagle Creek, Oregon. Think about it. Wouldn't it be nice to hang up the boxing gloves you use fighting with yourself about your size or shape? Get it done. Details in-person EFT for Weight Loss Retreat

Are You an Emotional Eater?

Who isn't? That's almost a silly question because anyone that eats when they aren't hungry, are eating for emotional reasons.

How to easily turn the page on emotional eating? Use EFT. Easy to learn, easy to use. Get The Daily Bites, mini lessons for overcoming overeating

Egg Whites Good for Dieters

Not Just for Breakfast Liquid egg whites are an excellent source of protein, and if you want to increase protein but not overdo fat consumption, egg whites get the job done.

You can crack and separate the eggs (save the yolks in ice cube trays for
later). If you want convenience, get them by the gallon.

Food Facts: New Snackables

*Bob's Pickle Pops. You heard me right. Pickle Popsicles. Indeed. I ordered a case so I'll let you know how that turns out

*Pop-em ice cream. Dreyer's Dibs ó ice cream balls coated in chocolate; can't go wrong there. They are 60 to a carton and 15 calories each so if you're disciplined and keep yourself to about four, it's a great snack idea.

*Slam-em cookies. Keebler's Gripz Chips Deluxe, M&M-size cookie bits in a single-serve bag. 120-calorie bag is "made for kids to slam down," says Brad Davidson, U.S. snacks division head at Kellogg. Seems like a real healthy idea, slamming it down. You go, Keebler!

In My Mailbox

"You do inspire me! When I am feeling down about my constant battle with emotional eating along comes one of your emails encouraging me not to give up. You are so practical and positive. It lifts my spirits to read your messages of hope." --Lynne

Gas Prices: Time to Ride the Bus

If you live anywhere near public transportation, time to get aboard. If your car guzzles gas, you are driving a gold mine! Stop wasting cash on transportation. Live within a mile of the store? Walk. Really. It's not so bad. You can't buy six big bags of stuff, but hey, you get outside, breath fresh air and you wouldn't believe how nice you start to feel.

Get up and Move to Dance the Weight Away

No, not in a club; right at home. Kids love this, and you will too. Simply a video game that requires you to match your steps with the crawling view on the monitor (or TV). The craze started with a young lady who played for fun then realized she'd lost a lot of weight at the same time. Find them at retail shops and online, but do not get a cheap-o mat or you won't enjoy it. These take a beating when you use them, so do a bit of research first

Jamie Lee Curtis Shows It All

Self magazine ran an article featuring Jamie Lee Curtis and how she really looks, then 13 people and three hours later, how she looked "all fixed up." This demonstrates the common deceit in the fashion and beauty industries. Anyone can be transformed into a beautiful creature with professional help on your hair, clothes, posing and lighting.

Try it: Stand in front of a mirror then just adjust your posture. Stand up straight and notice how you look instantly thinner.

San Francisco Chronicle article about Jamie Lee Curtis spread in More magazine and Jamie Lee Curtis Before After Photos

News Flash: Jamie Lee Curtis to do a topless spread in AARP! Lucky me, I'm over 50, so I'll get a copy and report next month! What's great is this is a woman, portrayed in the media is "perfect" showing that she's not perfect. Get ready for the backlash of those who'll make a big deal about the "not so perfect look," but hey, they are idiots so pay no attention. Curtis is brave, beyond belief.

Food Facts: Artichoke Capitol of the World

Three-fourths of the world's artichokes are grown in Castroville, California, a town with a population of little more than 5,000 residents. Self proclaimed "Artichoke Center of the World."

Artichokes are thought good for reducing cholesterol too.

Andrew Weil recommends Cholestin, a red rice yeast extract that contains statins, the active ingredient in the prescription drugs. Unfortunately, Cholestin can no longer be sold in the United States. (The US is not interested in what would be best for the people but instead refuses to allow food related products sold as health aids, go figure).

Another excellent way to reduce cholesterol is via fiber, but ingesting enough isn't always easy. Enter BiosLife Complete. A patented fiber blend, mix with water, drink and you're done.

Food Blogs: Asia Pundit, Best Asian Food Blogs

It's not all about diets and taking off pounds, it's about life and living fully. Enjoy your meals, take time with them, slow down the pace and see what you're eating. ;-)

VegTV : You don't have to go completely vegetarian to learn a lot from this resource.

Stupid Candy: Awesome! My kind of site. I get these novelty food stuffs all the time; so much so the merchant at my local shop loves me!

What does it say about me that I presently have two or more of their products including the bacon flavored toothpicks (gift for one of those at my retreat, lucky them) and gummy bacon (yes, lots of novelty pork products, go figure).

Review: Paul McKenna's "I Can Make You Slim"

I don't like title. No one can "make" you do anything and a large part of success with anything is taking responsibility. The show I watched didn't give anything but vague, clipped, demos of people just tapping here and there (it wasn't purposeful either, no words were said during the tapping, so there was no instruction to keep thinking of your issue, etc.) The point must be to drive viewers to visit McKenna's website for more, but doing that also gains you no information...unless you get a product that is.

Paul McKenna's specialty is NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming). He never mentioned NLP in the show. He also doesn't call EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) E F T but refers to it as "the tapping." Again, that may be designed so viewers get no clues where to seek out more except from him. The show seemed more like an infomercial than a "reality show."

You'll learn best by example. For real EFT for weight loss how-to, soup to nuts, A to Z, the skinny on how to use EFT and NLP to help lose the weight you want, to get on track and end your emotional eating, start with my no cost "The Daily Bites." Then, when you want more, peek at the outline of One More Bite's 8-week online Ending Emotional Eating program. Try The Daily Bites and see the One More Bite Ending Emotional Eating Course outline

McKenna's work is great, but this show? Not so much.

Short article on How to lose weight and gain money

Just for Laughs: What to Eat?

I always start with these good intentions to Eat Less Fat. Then along comes something saying "No, fat is good, don't eat any carbs." So back comes the fat, there go the carbs. Next - "No no, that isn't any good, the best way is low calorie. No, low calorie is hardest and slowest, just eat low GI foods. No, cut out ALL sugar, fruits are bad. Fruits are good. Some fats are good and ALL sugar is good (although some is not) but SOME carbs are BAD except the ones that are GOOD." AAARARRARARRRGGHHHH! Its enough to send me into a fit!

And that's just what to eat, I haven't even started on when and how much. -- Author Unknown

Until next time, yours in good eating,
