Exercise
with Body Weight for Resistance
First, you can exercise with
only your body weight as resistance.
The excuse that you can't afford
equipment doesn't work around
here.
Start with two cans of soup and
work your way up a gallon jug
filled with sand; then one day
a full fledged home gym. Even
heavy duty rubber bands can operate
as exercise bands. You don't have
to buy equipment or devices, but
for those who enjoy checking out
the new toys and gadgets, here's
what I use and recommend.
Rule 1 with exercise equipment:
Buy the very best you can possibly
afford. If you use it, you'll
be glad you got quality, and if
you don't get quality equipment,
you won't use it. Trust me on
this. Keep an eye out in the classifieds
for used equipment if you don't
want to buy new, but get quality.
How do you know it's quality?
Use common sense. A piece of exercise
equipment designed to withstand
daily or weekly use is going to
probably cost a bit more than
$50. |

Pilates - Sculpt Your
Body Slim |
|
I
absolutely love Pilates
and what it can do
for your body. If
you suffer from back
pain or have old injuries,
Pilates is the perfect
way to rehabilitate
yourself back into
shape. Many will say
you can't lose weight
with Pilates but they
are single-minded
individuals who can't
see the forest for
the trees. You can't
lose weight by eating
an apple either, but
an apple a day certainly
goes a long way toward
supporting better
health.
With Pilates you
learn to slowly strengthen
your core muscles,
the ones that hold
you up straight when
you walk, and help
you bend and stretch
from the waist. Movements
at first appear ridiculously
slight, "How
could this ever help?"
you may ask, until
you realize you're
having difficulty
performing them. When
you wake up sore the
next day you'll know,
you're working muscles
you never knew were
there. Developing
good core strength
helps you to get stronger
overall. Since taking
Pilates I've noticed
my rear is much more
shapely, and that's
something I've wanted
for a very long time.
Give Pilates a try.
